UNESCO declared Central University City Campus of UNAM a World Heritage site

Central University City Campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list for its architectural complex. The campus is regarded by the UN organization as "one of the most outstanding icons of architecture and urbanism in Latin America and the World". More than sixty architects, engineers and artists took part in its creation, accomplishing "a landmark settlement representative of XX Century Modernism"
Wow, such an honor to study at a World Heritage recognized complex..I guess not many people can be proud of that!

Starting over...

So, it's been a long time since I stop writing...such a shame, I said I was going to be writing constantly, but as I started my third semester in Architecture I've been as busy as never. But I'm here again, and as a promise I will be more regular this time!

I'm just about taking one of the most important decissions in my life. But what can help me in the moment of doing it? how can I know if i'm taking the right step? how would you know it? i guess it's impossible...but the main factor in taking this decission is my happiness...it might not be the best, but it is what makes me feel better. Is that right? just thinking about what I care...being selfish?

I started this entry in english...but as i wanted to write somethig kind of poetic i couldn't do it, so this one entry will be in spanish.

A veces siento que el mundo me come, quisiera desaparecer y olvidarme de todo un poco, olvidarme de cosas tan superficiales y efimeras. Quiero sentarme y nunca tener que moverme, quiero congelar en mi alma ese momento perfecto en el que no siento mas que el latido de mi corazón y escucho mi respiración, quiero estar tranquilo. Se puede? no, es la respuesta...es acaso el proposito de nuestra vida el nunca llegar a obtener la felicidad por completo? no quiero creerlo así, pero a veces pienso que es utopico ese momento que siempre hemos imaginado, ese momento en el que por fin somos totalmente felices.
Al mismo tiempo que escribo esto voy dandole respuestas a mis problemas, pienso en como quitarme este peso que llevo sintiendo desde hace ya tiempo, pienso en como desvanecerme y hacer lo que realmete quiero. Siento que es el momento perfecto para hacer muchas cosas, es para mi el momento...no lo tiene que ser para nadie mas.

Earthquake in Mexico city!!!!!!

It was freaking horrible...i hate to live in a city where the aerth moves with that much strenght!!!!
Today at 00:42am an eathquake struck mexican capital, that's Mexico City, it measured 6.3 on the Richter Scale. Even it was centered 64 kilometers (40 miles) north-northwest of the southern coastal resort of Acapulco it was felt strong enough to waken all the slept people!!! It lasted for more than a minute, which was terrible for me...i'm deeply concerned about the consequences of an earthquake, i get really nervous, not at the moment but after it happens because when it hits once there are always more quakes. Today I heard in the news that there have been more than 20 little quakes after the big one.
If you have ever felt one you know what i'm talking about, if you haven't i do not wish you ever feel one.
I just don't want to imagine Mexico City like in 1985 with the strongest earthquake ever in this town, the city was completely destroyed (i was not even borned) but the images i've seen talk by themselves. It was the view from a city in war, thousands of buildings totally fallen, thousands of families death or missing. I guess that if a have a fear is definetly to the earthquakes.

Who cares!!

Today i am supposed to turn in a project done...but as my sister is going to Europe tomorrow for more than a month i prefer to spend the whole day with her...school is gonna be there, but we never know what can happen to the ones we love tomorrow. Besides, family is the most important thing for me, wtf if i don't care bout school just for one day, right???

Have you ever felt like you are giving all you can? Have you ever felt like people is expecting more from you and your work has not been enough for them??? That's how i'm feeling right now...many things are happening in my life and though changes have been for good i'm pretty sure i'll be feeling like this for a while.
I just can't stand the emotion of not feeling sure of my decitions.
Hopefuly i'm not repeating the same mistakes from the past!!!

Je suis tres fatigué!!!

I'm really tired...i just came back from the gym and i have a lot of homework, i guess i'm just going for a coffe to Starbucks, rest and start after that. Besides this week is supposed to be for doing nothing, we're on vacations thanks to Jesus Christ!!!
Why do we, Catholics, never respect our sacred days???? jajajaja i guess we just do it when we get some kind of benefit...jajajaja

I don't know, i have never really believed in destiny, but when I met Mariana in Houston i was shocked about all the coincidences between her and me. We were exactly at the same place, by the same reason, it was just meant for us to met...and of course el uruguayo and laura, ana, karina...everybody, but life is really great when it gives you friends like you Mariana.
That's why I commit myself to visit you as soon as possible...and now i'm being serious. Venezuela is waiting for me, Chávez is also waiting for the mexicanito...jajaja

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (Spanish: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, abbreviated as UNAM) is today the most important Mexican university and was founded in 1551 by Royal Decree signed by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor at Valladolid, Spain. Born as Real Universidad de la Nueva España, is the second oldest university University in the Americas just behind the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru.
It is the largest university in Latin America and is ranked the best in Latin America, Spain and Portugal according to a study conducted by The Times released in 2005-2006. GOOD NEWS!!!

I just wanted to let you all know I'm pretty excited!!!! I'm joining Mr. Giovannini's Architectural Firm!!! He just proposed it to me and 3 more friends yesterday...isn't it awesome??? I'm just a 2nd semester student of Architecture Undergraduate (i hope i'm using the right word) and i'll be learning how is it the reallity at the labor field. Wish me luck...though i know i don't need it, i'm just the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was totally commited to write an entry after school, but life is cruel...i'm really charged with homework so i guess i prefer to sleep a little bit more than writting a lot.

Today i had to do some research about a famous and prolific architect, the one that i had to search about is the mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta...if you know something about this field you should know some of his work, which i think is one of the most important expression of mexican architecture. I love the way he uses colors, geometric volumes and solid compositions. Check out some of his work, it's really amazing: http://www.legorretalegorreta.com

I totally forgot to say that from 2 weeks ago i 've started gym...now i'm working out from 6 to 8 in the morning and taking kick boxing and capoeira classes, awesome isn't it???

Inicio...

Esta es la primer entrada de mi blog y como soy nuevo en esto creo que no va a ser la mejor que lean, ok? Estas vacaciones de verano han estado algo locas y creo que he estado desconectado hasta el punto de no saber lo que hago. Me fui de vacaciones a Houston, habia planeado estar 1 mes, pero al estar alla me di cuenta de que todo esta totalmente diferente asi es que decidi regresarme a la segunda semana...todo cambia constantemente y hay momentos en los que me encantaria que el mundo fuera algo mas estatico, es imposible pero la realidad es tan acelerada que a veces no puedo con ella. Aunque fueron dos semanas la pase increible, hice muchas cosas y adquiri muchas deudas, lo cual me tiene algo preocupado pero pues al final lo material va y viene...lo que importa es que vivas al maximo disfrutando lo que puedas, no creen?

Saludos a todos y espero esta vez ser un poco mas constante y lograr escribir por lo menos una vez a la semana.
